CMH Laboratory

Caverna Memorial Hospital's laboratory is a full-service clinical laboratory that is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Our lab serves all areas of the hospital, including the CMH emergency room, in-patient testing, and out-patient testing.  The lab at CMH is CLIA 88 accredited, and inspected regularly by the Kentucky Cabinet for Helath and Human Resources.  We also serve as a reference lab for area physicians, home health, and nursing home facilities.  Dr. Donna Boden, a board certified pathologist, is our lab director.

The laboratory at Caverna Memorial Hospital subscribes to the College of American Pathologists Proficiency Testing Program.  In this program, samples are sent to designated labs for analysis,  and the selected labs are graded on their performance.  The lab at Caverna Memorial Hospital, in accordance with CAP guidelines, maintains a score within the ranges of 80-100% compliance at all times.  To further assure the accuracy of our testing, we also follow our own stringent quality control standards.  With these controls in place, you can rest assured in the accuracy of your test results!

All of our lab personnel are licensed, and we perform testing in the following areas: hematology, chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, urinalysis, blood bank/transfusion medicine, drug screening, virology, and endocrinology.  We boast a state-of-the-art Laboratory Information System that is accreditated for EHR meaningful use.  Combining expertise with the latest technology, the lab at CMH will exceed your expectations!
