Respiratory Care Department
Overview
The Respiratory Care Department is active in all patient-care settings. Respiratory therapists consult with physicians regarding the selection of procedures and courses of therapy.
Diagnostic services
Obtaining sputum specimens, pulmonary function testing, oximetry, 6 minute walk tests, 24 hour holter monitoring.
Treatment
The department initiates and maintains all patients on mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and administers aerosol drugs.
Education
The department provides vital information to patients in helping them manage their disease/illness and wellness promotion.
